In our second year, once again, we learned about mobile development, and more specifically React Native. We had to create some kind of shop. I chose to make one about stickers.
Throughout the year we got deadlines to deliver. You were free to do these, or not. It was up to you, however these deadlines were very helpful to not rush things towards the end of the deadline. Thankfully I was able to keep up with the deadlines, only towards the end I had decided to finish some other projects first, because I knew I would be able to finish this without breaking a sweat.
I am happy with how this turned out. I finished all the minimum criteria and even decided to do the extra ones, to get more points for my grade. Some of the functionalities are seeing the new products on the home page, clicking on a product for more information, adjusting the quantity, favoriting a product, viewing your wishlist, searching and filtering etc.
At my exam, unfortunately, my teacher told me that one of my modules was not the newest version, so she couldn't open my project in the Android simulator we used. Thankfully she was very considerate about it and still allowed me to continue with my exam on my laptop.
I didn't really have a plan for this project. I had made my moodboard, as was asked of me, and then I started in Blender. I did everything for the most part on my own, however on the wheel, for example, I did follow a tutorial.
Generally I would say this project went smoothly. And I am happy that I finally got to explore in Blender.
I am really happy with how everything turned out, I liked the way this class worked, I liked working with react native and I like how it turned out.
Everything went smoothly, however one thing I learned from this project is that I should always check if my modules are up to date. Click here to see a video of the app in action.
