Simit cart

Blender 3D Design

About the Project

Giving context

In our second year, we were introduced with Blender and 3D design for the first time. We followed a bunch of tutorials, made just as many projects, some smaller than others and some bigger ones. Our final, and biggest project was to create a 3D streetfood kiosk. We had to combine everything we learned in this one project and had to hand it in by the end of may.

The process

When I first heard about our project, I was really excited. I had always wanted to learn Blender and this was the perfect opportunity for me to actually get started on it.
I immediately thought of a simit cart, inspired by the ones I have seen in Turkey, where my roots lie.
Simit with Ayran is one of my favorite combinations. So I was really looking forward to this.
I didn't really have a plan for this project. I had made my moodboard, as was asked of me, and then I started in Blender. I did everything for the most part on my own, however on the wheel, for example, I did follow a tutorial.
Generally I would say this project went smoothly. And I am happy that I finally got to explore in Blender.

The result

I really like how this project turned out. I think the simits turned out really cute, and the colors fit well together. It makes me happy to look at.

Reflection

Tho I am happy with the result, I do think that there is a lot more I have yet to learn. An example would be lightning. I noticed that I didnt understand it very well, I somehow managed to make it work but I am not sure how.
So if I were to make a 3D project again, lighting would definetly be something I will have to explore more deeply.
